Live Nation sells Foxwoods Theatre to UK’s ATG

Live Nation has sold the Foxwoods Theatre in New York to Lyric Theatre, LLC, a subsidiary of Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG). The Foxwoods Theatre will become the 40th theatre in the ATG portfolio and the UK company’s first theatre in the United States. Ticketing for the Foxwoods Theatre will continue to be provided by Ticketmaster

Live Nation Q1 revenue up 6.4% as net losses narrow

Live Nation saw revenues grow 6.4% in Q1 2013 while cutting its net losses by just under $6 million year-on-year. While revenues for the live giant stood at $923.7 million in the first quarter, the company’s net loss came in at $63.2 million compared to $69.2 million in the same period last year

MAMA-acquired East Village Arts Club opens

The venue formerly known as The Masque and The Barfly has now re-opened as East Village Arts Club under its new owners MAMA Group. EVAC opened its doors on April 19 after undergoing a £1.5m makeover – it had previously been empty since it closed over a year ago when the previous owners decided it was no longer financially viable to run.

Hydro and SECC Glasgow appoint new concerts, events and ticketing director

Glasgow arena venues SECC and Hydro have appointed John Langford as director, Concerts, Events & Ticketing. In the newly-created role, Langford will be responsible for overseeing and developing the sales activity within the concerts, events and ticketing sector and to position forthcoming new venue The Hydro (and wider SECC campus) alongside the best premier live entertainment venues internationally.
