The SD2 festival is a new festival from the people who brought you the popular Shakedown festival of Brighton. SD2 will be held at Stanmer Park in Brighton on Sunday 29th September 2013. The line-up is announced on Wednesday 22nd May 2013.

FestivalPlanet is a rapidly expanding blog which began as an idea 4 years ago to list as many UK music festivals as possible. I wanted a calendar that was easy to use and could display all the events in chronological order.
Each event listing comes complete with a Google map for directions, a brief synopsis, links to the official festival website along with their twitter and facebook pages.
The site isn’t a business and more of a hobby. I use the od Google Advert to pay for the hosting but these are kept to a minimum.

The Aurora Project.
The Aurora Project was an idea that came about in spring 2010. We toyed with different designs and shapes until we were all happy with not only the functionality, but also the aesthetics. Having the experience and passion for creating outrageous projects, building the UFO was the next logical step. By the summer of 2011 we gathered our team consisting of carpenters,electricians,welders and artists to start on the UFO build. Three months later we were finished and ready to showcase our creation.
The concept and design for the UFO was generated in house. With many years experience in the events industry the UFO implements many tried and tested methods. The structure itself consists of mainly CNC machined aluminium that was welded in our workshops. At this stage of the design/build we worked with structural engineers to maintain the correct strengths and wind-loadings to comply with all current standards. The coverings are all PVC and slide into our main beams to not only solidify the UFO under tension,but also to make a watertight seal. The bar is slick and efficient and stocks a wide variety of spirits and good selection of draught products all run by our experienced staff. Access around the UFO is easy and is designed as to avoid bottle necks at any given area,this also increases the effectiveness of any security/fire issues should any incident arise.The erection time is three days and a pitch of 20m diameter is more than adequate. At present there is work under way to provide two extra themed areas to increase capacity from 250 – 500. The UFO comes with all relevant insurances, risk assessments, health and safety and fire fighting equipment.

We have created a cosy groovy space for family and friends to gather and have a proper breakfast, rolling on into afternoon tea and then heart warming suppers.
A place you can snug up if wet and cold, or relax from the sun, as our beautiful tent enables us to lift the sides creating a fab shady space.
We are available as a team of caterers, for any celebration. We also HIRE our marquee to create a show stopping centerpiece for your party, arrangements can be made to style the marquee out accordingly.
Tea and Sympathy comes with characters all will be revealed.
They play a key roll in the business, and come to life like magic.
We are renowned for baking on site and our selection of cupcakes and cake are beyond delicious !!!!!!

Chai Wallahs is an ethical and unique venue that seeks to provide an alternative, enlightening, sensually indulgent experience and a platform for fresh creative expression.
The Stage
Chai Wallahs hosts performances from a selection of the UK’s finest underground talent and established artists, and provides a culturally diverse production that covers a huge spectrum of musical styles.
Over the course of a festival between 35 to 40 acts will perform on the stage. Morning slots are usually filled with Jazz and World music. Lunch time & afternoon slots with folk, acoustic soul & blues, whilst the early evening will be a mixture of Hip Hop, Funk, Afrobeat, Ska, Reggae, Dub and Electronica.
From 9pm the tempo, vibe and energy continually build until around midnight when our resident DJs take over and the party truly begins.
DJ’s – The Diplomats of Sound
With over 30 years of experience between them, more than 20,000 tunes in their collection, a dedicated passion for fulfilling the crowds musical desires, and a reputation for never failing to get the party rocking. The ‘Diplomats of Sound’ provide a phat mix of Eclectic Beats and Party Vibes, ranging from 60’s rare grooves to present day electronica.
Aroma DJs
Uplifting the crowd using the art of scent and a vast selection of natures most powerful natural gums, herbs, resins and oils, our ‘Crazy Shaman’ team blend the scents to fit the musical vibes.
Bar & Café
The Chai Wallah menu has been designed with quality, value, and health in mind, and uses ethically and organically sourced produce/products whenever possible. The menu offers a wide and diverse selection of Organic Smoothies, Juices, cocktails, Hot Alcoholic Beverages, Healing Teas, Turkish Coffee, Freshly Brewed Chai and a range of delicious Wholesome Meals & Healthy Snacks. The Bimble Inn is a unique structure made from canvas and wood, fusing ancient tipi design with modern ideas. It is essentially modular and can be built to accommodate anything from 250 to 500 people depending on your needs.

The Bimble Inn is a complete mobile venue with a fully equipped live stage and a 6k PA system. We provide a comprehensively stocked cocktail bar, we also stock locally produced cider and organic ales.
By day the structure is simply beautiful from the outside and delightfully decorated on the inside. By night the space comes alive with strands of LED fairy lights.
